FIRE (KAJI) ・SUDDEN ILLNESS (KYUBYO) ・ACCIDENTS WITH GAS (GASU JIKO)

In case of fire, accident, sudden illness or disaster, remain calm and call the following numbers.

 Fire, sudden illness, injury, gas leaks, or gas explosions 119 / Fire Department (SHOBO SHO)

119 and 110 calls can be made free of charge from public pay phones.

 FIRE (KAJI)

  1. Call out "KAJI!" in a loud voice to alert others in the area.
  2. Call 119 (Fire Department), and tell the operator “the address (or rough location) of the fire, a landmark near the fire, and your name.”

 

SUDDEN ILLNESS (KYUBYO)

 In case of sudden illness requiring emergency treatment, call 119 (Fire Department) and give them “your address, a landmark near where you are, your name, and the symptoms”

 

ACCIDENTS WITH GAS (GAS LEAKS OR EXPLOSIONS) / (GASU JIKO)

  1. Using gas equipment improperly or using defective gas equipment may lead to accidents. If you smell gas when using your gas equipment, turn off the gas and open the window. Do not use any other gas related equipment or turn on any electrical appliances if you suspect a gas leak.
  2. Contact the gas company or the propane sales shop to have your equipment checked for any defects.
