Welcome to the City of Yaizu

Yaizu City is located between Tokyo and Nagoya, and its shoreline extends 15.5km from north to south along Suruga Bay. Surrounded by natural attractions, the city affords beautiful views of Mt. Fuji as well as views of local Mt. Takakusa (elev. 501m) towering above the city boundary.

Fishery is the major industry of Yaizu city, where different kinds of fishes are landed at three ports-Yaizu Port, mostly bonitos and tuna: Kogawa Port, fishes in the seas around and on the coast of Shizuoka such as horse mackerel and other mackerel: and Oigawa Port, small shrimps and white bait-making Yaizu a very well-known fishery city throughout Japan.

There are also natural hot springs in the city, and these are reputed to be very good for both beauty and health.

We sincerely hope that you will quickly get used to living here and will enjoy a good relationship with local citizens.
