2 ISSUANCE OF A “RESIDENCE CARD”

Your “alien registration card” is considered to be your “residence card” for a certain period of time, so you do not need to rush to switch your card: please get it done by the following expiration dates.  

Residence Status

16 years old and older

Less than 16 years old

Any resident status other than permanent resident

By the expiration date of the residence period

Either by the expiration date of the residence period or the 16th birthday,  whichever comes first

Permanent resident

By July 8th, 2015

Either by July 8th, 2015 or the16th birthday, whichever comes first
